Chipping Campden Town Council Serving the people of Chipping Campden

About

Chipping Campden is a small market town nestling in a fold in the hills in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is often referred to as "the Jewel of the Cotswolds". Our High Street is famous for its elegant terraced houses made from honey-coloured Cotswold limestone.

The architecture of the High Street dates from the 14th to the 17th Century and the entire centre of the Town is a Conservation Area. Administratively, we are situated in the Campden Vale Ward of Cotswold District Council in Gloucestershire. The Town Council is responsible for providing a number of facilities within the Town including the allotments on Aston Road and the cemetery at West End Terrace. It is also responsible for the maintenance of St. James' churchyard and as the Sole Managing Trustee of two of the town's trusts it is responsible for the Grade II* listed Town Hall, the War Memorial Green (designed by the famous architect F.L. Griggs), the Town Square car park and The Playing Field and Recreation Grounds at George Lane and Castle Gardens.

We are also a statutory consultee on planning applications that are made to Cotswold District Council and our team of Councillors and Volunteers are currently working on our draft Neighbourhood Development Plan.
